35 North was founded in 2020 by Sam Frye, who is a 2016 graduate from The Citadel. What began as a small residential and commercial business has grown into one of the regions largest commercial metal framing, drywall, painting and ACT companies. All of our work is performed with our own crews affording us the ability to have more control over schedule, quality and safety.
We are an experienced Multi-family, Commercial, and Industrial licensed commercial contractor specializing in Painting, Drywall, Metal Framing, Acoustical Ceilings, and Wallcoverings. As a company we are dedicated to providing the highest standard of work in the least amount of time to create a positive and seamless customer experience. Through constant communication with our clients and excellent workmanship we always deliver on time, on budget, and with superior quality.
Locally owned and operated in Charleston, SC, we proudly service the entire region. Founded by Sam Frye and owned by Nadia Frye, we were established in 2020 and have quickly become a preferred contractor offering painting, drywall, acoustical ceilings, metal framing, and wallcoverings.
Our reputation of being focused on the customer is demonstrated by the number of repeat and referral customers we have, so we pride ourselves on making sure the customer knows they are talking to senior management when they call us.
We also pride ourselves on doing a great job in evaluating the customer needs and making sound recommendations for a solution that will meet their expectations while staying within their budget. We don’t limit our business to one product but instead are excited to offer multiple contracting services. Our success has been built on happy customers and this will remain as our number one goal!
Sam is a 2016 graduate of The Citadel, having degrees in Business Administration and Management and Supply Chain Management. He was a Center for The Citadel football team for two years and a Guard for two years. Sam started all 13 games in his Senior year and was a Walter Camp All-American. After some time in sales and the corporate world after school Sam decided to pursue his dream of owning a business and 35 North was born. What began as a small, mostly residential contracting firm has become one the regions most reputable commercial Division 9 (and now 10 contractors).
Thomas has been in the industry for 27 years, focusing on business development, client relations and marketing. Prior to 35 North most of his career has been on the general contractor and engineering side, which has brought a valuable perspective to our company. He is in charge of all new client development, managing our relationships and has developed the new web site and all marketing materials (with the help of his friends at SKC Creative of course!). Thomas lives in Charleston with his wife, youngest son and two dogs.
Jason has been in the commercial construction industry for more than 30 years, learning the business through being a carpenter, a superintendent, project manager and eventually finding his place in the preconstruction world. At 35 North Jason oversees all estimating and preconstruction and also supports project management. Jason lives in Summerville with his wife and is an avid hunter.
